I’ve been watching a lot of holiday movies of the “Made for TV” variety lately (don’t judge!) and I’ve noticed a common theme – everyone looks really fancy on Christmas day.
In my house this is so not the case. We stay in our (matching) pajamas as long as possible and believe me, no one looks put together. At all.
This got me curious about your Christmas day beauty tradition. Would your look be right at home in a holiday movie? Or do you give your beauty tools and products a break on the 25th?

I’ve always liked this snapshot. It shows my dad in his Jeep, plowing the snow from our driveway.
It’s a typical December scene in the winter wonderland known as Michigan.
It got me to thinking about dressing for cold weather.
Our parents taught us to cover up from head to toe and insulate every square inch of ourselves with thick clothing.
But there are always those who sacrifice themselves for fashion.
You know these folks. You might even be one! They’re the ones who say, “No, an insulated coat makes me look heavy, so I’ll take the lighter one.” Or “I just styled my hair and it looks marvelous, so there’s no way I’m putting on a hat.”
Where do you stand on this issue?

FingerPaints Fun-Fetti
Lately it seems that I’ve turned into a magpie. Everything sparkly, especially glitter nail polish, makes me say OOOH SHINY! MUST HAVE NOW! My polish collection is starting to overflow with sparkly, hard-to-remove-but-oh-so-worth-it glitter polish, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
So for today’s Friday Fashion Poll I wanted to see if anyone else was suffering from magpie-itis with regards to glitter polish. Please vote and let me know your thoughts in the comments!

To color or not to color, that is the question. Or at least it is for some.
For me it’s a no brainer. Dolly Parton says in Steel Magnolias, ”These thighs haven’t gone out of the house without lycra on them since I was 14.” Well that’s me, but with hair color. I hit 8th grade and my hair hasn’t been its natural mousey brown since. (Thank goodness.)
I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm for all things hair color, so I’m curious about what you think. Please vote and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

What are your thoughts on feather hair extensions? Do you love them? Or do you think they are something people will laugh about in 15 years like, “Remember in 2011 when everyone wore feathers in their hair? HILARIOUS!”

I was at the nail salon this past weekend and was thinking about how people have SUCH different ideas about what they want on their toes during sandal season. There was Neon Green Lady parked next to French Manicure Lady, who was sitting next to The More Sparkles the Better Lady. (A nail salon is almost as good of a place to people watch as the airport!) So that got me interested in your preferred summer pedicure color.
