So the wet look trend is just something that I do not get!  Why would you want to look like your blow dryer broke? I like my hair looking dry, thank you very much.

Although, I will say that not everyone feels the same way. InStyle magazine even listed it as a hot trend for summer!

One hot trend for summer is bold, colorful, even neon (!), eyeliner. I love the pop of color it provides, especially when paired with an otherwise natural-looking face.

That said, I think it’s one of those trends that I love on other people, but would never be able to pull off myself. I think I’ll stick with my dark brown eyeliner, thank you very much. =)

I woke up this morning to discover a lovely little “friend” had popped up between my eyes. I’m growing a unicorn horn, perhaps? Whatever the case, it had to be covered and my concealer wasn’t cutting it, so I broke out my foundation to help.

On normal days, I’m powder only girl, but I do keep a bottle of foundation around for raccoon eye and unicorn horn emergencies. I’ll admit that it is not my favorite beauty product, but it does have its uses. Personally, I’m just not a fan of how it feels on my face.

Did you see Scarlettt Johansson recently rocking the Dutch-braid on the red carpet? She’s gorgeous so she could pretty much wear a dead bird on her head and look amazing, but I’m not so sure how I feel about her hairstyle choice.

Honestly, I think I’d prefer that Dutch-braids be left to fairytale characters, but take a look at Pinterest and you’ll see that I’m in the minority because tutorials for this braid are crazy popular.

On Wednesday we talked about lipstick on our Facebook page, and I learned a few things from the comments -  mainly that some people REALLY dislike lipstick.  I thought that level of hate was usually reserved for scrunchies! =)

Amongst the lipstick haters, a lot of them said they like lip gloss and some said they preferred not to wear anything on their lips. So I thought I’d whip up a handy dandy poll and see where you stand.

I had a coworker ask me recently if you are supposed to wear mascara on both your top and bottom lashes. I’ve always worn it on both and didn’t know that anyone did any different, so I was surprised by the question.

You know how when you get a new car, you immediately start seeing your car everywhere? That’s how it is now that she brought it to my attention. I can’t stop looking at those around me to see if they are wearing mascara on their top and bottom lashes! My highly scientific research (wink wink) has shown that while the majority of people do wear it on both, there are a handful that don’t.

Last weekend, I got a call from a friend and our conversation went something like this:

Friend: The manicurist thinned my polish after doing my nails, before she did my toes, and now they don’t match! It looks terrible! Do you think people will notice?

Me: You’re not supposed to wear the same colors on your nails and toenails, anyway. It’s too matchy-matchy.

Friend: … um, what?

March is a difficult time of year, fashion-wise, for those of us who follow the rule of “No White Before Easter.” It feels like spring and every morning I stare longingly into my closet at my white pants and linen skirts, knowing that it will still be awhile before I can wear them.

My question is, am I torturing myself for no reason? Does anyone else still follow the “No White rule?”

Recently, I stopped by my sister’s on the way to a dinner with friends and borrowed some make-up to freshen up. It’s always a challenging experience to make other people’s make-up work for you, isn’t it?

Anyway, when I discovered that she had no blush, I was floored! No blush?! How could this be? Blush is my number one make-up love! (People who know me and are reading this are saying, “duh!”) My sister, however, only wears bronzer.

At dinner that night, I informally polled my friends and discovered that the world was divided into two groups – Blushing Beauties and Bronzer Babes. I’m sure there are some rebels who wear both, but none were at my table.

So, I pose the question to you, dear readers.  Are you a Blushing Beauty or Bronzer Babe? Or do you wear both?

Topknots are crazily hot right now! Everywhere I look (which let’s be honest, is mostly on Pinterest) people are sporting these fun buns on top of their head. (Side note: Are you following us on Pinterest yet?)

Topknots come in all different styles and sizes, and can be messy and carefree, or sleek and elegant. I personally like the ones that incorporate another favorite trend of mine – braids.

When I wear one I get a help from my little friend, the hair mesh donut thing, or as it’s more formally known – the Hair Stylers Mesh Chignon.
