Let’s talk about gold, shall we? I LOVE it right now. Flip through any fashion magazine and it appears that I’m not alone!

I feel a little guilty since for years I gave my mother a hard time about her gold jewelry. “How tacky! Get out of the 80s!,” I’d say, as I bought yet another pair of silver hoops. Now I raid her jewelry box every time I’m home to see what fun, vintage pieces I can “borrow.”

Lately I’ve been seeing this gold trend not only in clothing and accessories, but also in makeup. Red lips get a fabulous update with ombre gold centers, and I’ve even seen people using gold eyeliner.

I’ve yet to try it myself, but I think gold would be amazing layered over winged black liquid eyeliner.

Leopard print seems to fade in and out of popularity quite often, doesn’t it? It’s been on the fashion radar again for awhile now, but is here in a big way for fall.

I’m sitting here writing this wearing leopard print flats, so you can guess which way I’m going to vote. Personally, I’m not a fan of head to toe leopard (Hello, Jungle Chic!), but I do love incorporating pieces of it in the form of accessories.

Mascara can be a little overwhelming for me. There are just so many formula options and until recently I had a hard time deciding what type of brush I prefer. Because of this, I tend to change mascaras every time I need a new tube. Maybe I’m flakey? :)

Although I spent much of my makeup wearing life bouncing from mascara to mascara, I have figured out that I love how my lashes look with a large, bristle wand. These types of wands (pictured on the left) are perfect for giving your lashes curl and lift. The downside is that they’re a little difficult to maneuver in the corners of your eyes.

On the flip-side, there are smaller, rubbery wands that have short nubs instead of bristles. They’re great for lengthening, providing separation and make coating your bottom lashes a breeze.

For today’s poll I thought I’d ask about your personal style. Do you feel like your look is of the spicy, seductress variety, or are you more of the sweet girl next door? Does it change depending on the day?

I will occasionally spice up my makeup with a red lip or smokey eye for a night out, but my go-to style is pretty much the OPPOSITE of vixen. I won’t even tell you how many cardigans I own. What can I say? I love me a sweater set! =P
