While skimming through the latest issue of Cosmopolitan, I learned that chocolate cherry lipstick is the new rep lip. Whenever I read articles like this I always think of that truly terrible movie, Josie and the Pussycats, where everyone runs around saying things like “Pink is the new red” and “Orange is the new pink.” Anyone else see the movie and willing to admit it? 
Anyway, besides being a little over the phrase “such and such is the new such and such” I really like this alternative to red lipstick. As a child of the 90s when dark lips and flannel (regrettably) were de rigueur, I like that it’s a tiny bit Goth but mostly chic.
What about you? Will you be sporting chocolate cherry lipstick this fall, or should it stay in the 90s along with combat boots worn with baby doll dresses?

And I’m reminded of the lightweight musical “Funny Face.” The editor of a huge fashion magazine declares that pink is the color for the season — pink is in — EVERYTHING has to be pink! Later she tells her assistant that she hates the color and never wears it.

Not loving the dark lipstick. It washes everyone out so bad. However, if the combat boots, babydoll dresses, and overalls want to come back I am ok with that!

Does it come off as dark on the lips or can you see some sign of the cherry?
