I love nail designs with stripes, but I was a little fearful about painting them neatly. Then I tried painting stripes with the new FingerPaints Striping Polish and realized that this wasn’t difficult at all, especially since the brush is shorter and easier to handle than most striping brushes. So, I created a design for “Sizzling Summer Stripes” that everybody can enjoy painting. Instructions and supply list below the photo!
Nail polish remover
Cotton cosmetic rounds (for removing old polish)
Dotting Tool or toothpick
Clear Base Coat
FingerPaints Striping Polish in Ch-Art-Coal Black
FingerPaints Striping Polish in Red-Assiance
FingerPaints Striping Polish in Cari-Art-Ure
FingerPaints Striping Polish in Master Muse
Remove old nail polish. Rinse your nails with soap and water to rid your nails and cuticles of the remover. File and buff your nails. Apply a clear base coat and let dry.
Using the black striping polish, paint four thin black, curved, slanted lines beginning at the top left and painting to the right bottom of the nail. (Dip the brush into the polish, lay the brush down and gently drag the brush). Let dry.
Using yellow striping polish, fill in the top portion of the nail. Also, fill in the fourth stripe with yellow. You may need two coats of paint. Let dry.
Step 4: Fill in the second stripe and the tip with orange polish. Apply two coats if needed.
Step 5: Using red striping polish, fill in the third stripe. Apply two coats, if needed. Drip a few drops of red striping polish on the wax paper and with the dotting tool or toothpick, make a red flower. Add a black center with a dot of black and accent the top yellow stripe with small orange dots. Let dry for 15 minutes.
Apply two coats of clear topcoat and you are finished. I really enjoyed painting stripes and was so excited to find that they were very easy to paint. I hope you will try painting my Sizzling Summer Stripes and have a fun summer.
Remember…Keep those nails covered.
