I had a coworker ask me recently if you are supposed to wear mascara on both your top and bottom lashes. I’ve always worn it on both and didn’t know that anyone did any different, so I was surprised by the question.
You know how when you get a new car, you immediately start seeing your car everywhere? That’s how it is now that she brought it to my attention. I can’t stop looking at those around me to see if they are wearing mascara on their top and bottom lashes! My highly scientific research (wink wink) has shown that while the majority of people do wear it on both, there are a handful that don’t.
What about you? Do you wear it only your top lashes? Is there a right or wrong way? Please take a moment to vote and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

The bigger the eyelashes the better. BOTH!!! My bottoms would be sad if I left them out…

top lashes only…I was taught to only put it on the top and I continue this trend now that I am an adult. I actually don’t like it when there is mascara on the bottom because somehow i look like a raccoon (i wear contact lenses and often rub my eyes). Pretty on others, just not me. Most of my friends don’t wear any on their bottom lashes either. Maybe its a regional thing? I’m from eastern Canada.

I’m lucky in that I have lashes like the Demi Whispies…If I put mascara on both I really look like I have false ones on.

Top only. Although some gets on the bottom by accident because my mascara takes a while to dry and if I blink a little transfers. But not enough to make a big difference.
I guess if you are wearing mascara for the color (like if you have naturally blonde eyelashes) it could be weird to leave the bottoms out. But if you don’t need it for the color, I say leave it off the bottom. It looks gross. You barely notice when someone’s wearing mascara on their top lashes – I mean, you notice that they look pretty and bright-eyed but you probably don’t notice the mascara itself. But on the bottom, you can’t *not* notice it. It’s like the mascara overpowers and weighs down those little lashes. No good.

I don’t think putting black mascara on my brown bottom lashes makes me look like a raccoon at all. I think most of the time I look bald on the bottom if I don’t wear any, especially if any of my concealer has gotten on my lashes.
